Spaghetti With Homemade Meat Sauce
Spaghetti With Homemade Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lean ground beef

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 1 29oz can crushed or diced tomatoes

  • 1 29oz can tomato sauce

  • 1 cup beef broth

  • 1 bay leaf

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano

  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves

  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, can be adjusted

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, optional


Method:

  1. Sauté beef in pan over medium low heat

  2. Stir constantly and make sure beef is all separated

  3. Cook until brown

  4. Add garlic and onion and stir well

  5. Cook for 2 minutes

  6. Add bay leaf, oregano, basil leaves, parsley, soy sauce, sugar, salt and pepper and mix well

  7. Add beef broth, tomatoes and tomato sauce

  8. Cover pan

  9. Turn heat to medium high and bring to a boil

  10. Turn heat down to low and cook for 5 minutes

  11. In another pot, cook spaghetti according to instruction on package

  12. Ladle meat sauce over spaghetti

  13. Sprinkle cheese on top

  14. Serve warm
