Pairs super well with white rice!
Ingredients:
1 box firm tofu, cut into 12 pieces
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1 red chili pepper, optional, chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
4 thin slices ginger, peeled
2 teaspoons cooking oil
1 teaspoon sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon rice wine
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 cup water
Method:
Heat cooking oil in medium heat
Brown tofu pieces both sides
Add sesame seed oil, garlic, ginger, and chili pepper
Stir well
Add rice wine, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water and bring it to a boil
Keep cooking until the sauce starts to thicken
Add basil
Mix well. Serve hot
NOTE: Rice wine can be found in Asian grocery stores
