A nice little sweet that isn't too sweet!

Vegan Honeycomb Toffee

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 2 tablespoons maltose

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 square cake pan, lined with parchment paper



Method:

  1. In a saucepan, add water, sugar and maltose and cook over high heat

  2. Do not stir until sugar and maltose melted

  3. Keep boiling for about 2 minutes or temperature reaches 300°F

  4. Stir well

  5. Turn off heat

  6. Add baking soda immediately and stir vigorously for a few seconds

  7. Pour into cake pan and let cool
